We ordered Knee Length Dresses from our manufacturer and instead of Knee Length, they sent Tea Length Dresses. This was a problem due to backorders etc, but this suddenly felt significant.
The Knee Length Dress was The Dress that launched our Clergy Line, everyone loved it but wanted something straighter and longer. I designed the Three Quarter Length Clergy Dress. Again, this was also a great success.
Next, our Clients told us they love the flow of the Knee Length Dress and the length of the Three Quarter but wanted Length and Flow. This is when I designed the Clergy Tea Dress.
TEA LENGTH: A “tea length” dress (so named because it’s what a woman would wear to the tea table in the 1920s) falls about three to four inches below the knee and has lately become a great evening alternative to the floor-sweeping gown.
It was launched in August 2015. They arrived (I was working from home back then), I was so excited to show someone I put it on a mannequin, took some pictures and sent a quick email to share the great news that the style you helped me develop was here. Then I left for the weekend to spend time with family… When I came back, the dresses were practically SOLD OUT!
The Clergy Tea Dress has gone on to outsell every other dress we do. So I’m excited to have it back in stock and say Happy 3rd Birthday to the Clergy Tea Dress. This dress is:
- a modest length,
- fitted in the right places,
- loose in the right places.
Get yours here, while stocks last:
It’s truly an honour to serve you,
